I will survive! January 21, 2006

Hmmm I was in a very depressing mood
for past few days, then it turned into anger against many
people around me whom I considered the cause of this and
finally now I have desire to succeed again so that I can
show to all those persons that “I will survive” and succeed!

During my past 2-3 years in college I
have tried working on a number of projects small and large
from robotics to web designing to circuit making and have
failed mostly. But the failures never make me sad as I am
firm believer in what Edison
used to say “by failing 1000 times I have found 1000 new
ways of NOT making the bulb”. But what really hurts me is
when people make you look like a fool when you talk about
such things. And eyes can say much more than words. So, now
I don’t want to work on anything not because I may fail but
because I will look still dumber and a bigger fool!

If you can’t get anything that I have
written then let me give you some history.

From the time when I was first asked
“tum bade ho ke kya ban na chahte ho?” my answer has always
been “engineer” and not because it was cool or it was the
latest trend or it will get lots of money but because I want
to create things. Beautiful things, innovative things,
useful thing … This is what I always wanted and I had no
doubts that I will be able to achieve and with such dreams
in my eyes I gave entrance exams and then when time came to
choose from going to good college (IIT and DCE) but not so
good branch (textile in IIT and mech in DCE) and not that
good college (PEC) but good branch (electronics). I never
had a second thought. I thought “well it is a reputed
college and I like electronics more than mechanical and
surely more than textile” and most importantly it is an
ENGINEERING college! What more could I ask for? First year
went without anything much but I started getting the feeling
that maybe my dreams about engineering college were not so
realistic. It was not the college that disappointed me that
much as the students here!!

What else can you say when students of
an engineering college say things like “hey don’t talk about
such hi-fi things, you are in PEC”, “yaar PEC mein aise kaam
kaun karta hai” and worst of all “PEC is more of a
management college!” And if that’s not enough they have
pride in saying these things. Give me a break yaar! *feeling
totally fed up*

Well if you want to do MBA after
college then fine, go ahead but why make the life of “true
engineers” miserable? When the only mistake that we did was
choosing an engineering college in the hope that it will be
the best way to become an engineer! And by “true engineer” I
don’t mean good or great ones but those who are doing BE as
they “want to be engineer” and not just to get a bachelors
degree so that they are eligible to give the CAT!

I don’t have anything personally
against people going for MBA but why most of them forget
that it’s NOT always necessary to be the ultimate aim for
engineering! I never realized how horrible it could feel to
be left out of the pack. In a class of 60 more than 40 think
that you are stupid (as you are not giving CAT) other 9-10
don’t care for the whole world and remaining just wander
aimlessly trying to make sense of this all!

So, if you are CAT aspirant please
remember there ARE people who don’t want to do MBA not
because they CANT but coz they don’t WANT to do it, maybe
they find it too damn boring or maybe they have found some
other way of making money!!

And if you are one of “US” then let’s
start one more “Empire strikes back” and show “THEM” what
our real worth is.

Phew blogging is cool!! I am already
feeling lighter and ready-to-roll!!

To all those who share the plight
of what Tada has just described in the few lines here, i
would like to add one thing.. This person has stood up for
what he believes and nows what he wants.. But there
countless many who drift away in the crowd and with the
crowd, not knowing not only what is right for them, but
rather dont know what they actually want and expect from
life itself. People stand up!! SURVIVE!!!

id like to say….this is just the
way i felt when i joined pec…what i hate the most is the
crowd n the attitude….it makes u have this ‘natural’
tendency of drifting from ur goals n perpetually ruining ur
life….

tc ppeople…the environment is too sad here.

Thanx buddy for reminding that many times exceptions are
what really matter!

Mina

First of all WELCOME to my blog, I hope u will be a regular
visitor in future…

Abt the crowd…i think ppl with a “goal” shunt have much
problem…instead the guys who dont know what they really
wanna do in life will be the most affected. Isnt it?

And for the sad environment….lets hope that people like us
will make it better!!
